Tales of Week 7
In training I’ve been way more specific in the way I’ve approached week 7. Alas the reason is that I haven't been hitting my targets..
So I’ve tried to drop the overall meters of elevation and increase the time on the bike doing the repetitions of the hills. It’s worked to an extent with a 470m, 334m, 216m and 404m so not hitting the 2 x 500m, however I’ve topped the ‘PBs’ twice in one week with a 3 second shave off in total! I am therefore very happy !!
Looking forward to next week (8), I’m going to get even more specific and do 3 bouts x 400m of elevation as well as hitting all the targets with total elevation 1250m, 12 hours on the bike and 130kms. I reckon they are reachable goals…!!??? I can hear your doubts…...
I also was in Paramount Gym 3 times last week focusing on the core/calves and upper body, it all adds up I’ll tell you that!
This week it’ll be pretty similar with the focus on exactly the same areas of this body.
In other news I did a podcast which was a lot of fun. I was talking with a fellow stroke survivor. Check Bill out on insta @recoveryafterstroke and stay tuned for the actual podcast which will be up very soon!
I also did a talk out at Glen Waverley to a group from The Syndal Baptist Church. It went really well and they were very supportive of both what I’m doing and the journey I’m undertaking. Quite concerned for my safety.
Apart from that, it’s been a quiet week which I do not mind!!
Looking ahead, this week will be very much the same but I am not complaining! Though the weather isn’t looking as good, oh well nothing like riding in the rain.
