From finishing up at the furthest point North to finishing down at the furthest point South.
Two different EPIC journeys, two different objectives, a million different stories that were told.
For me it’s passing through and being embraced by different communities along the way. Their willingness to offer support, to listen, to engage, and to chip $ is one of the main reasons that has made the journeys so vivid in my memories.
I want to ask you a question, what’s your definition of community? Feel free to pop it in the comments or not. It’s more a rhetorical question that needs no written answer, just a food for thought approach.
Now we get a little down time, to explore other parts of Tassie but I’ll certainly be back and of course more hot content to come!
P.S. the Whale isn’t the actual most southerly point (accessible by road) we rode a one kilometre further for a better photo opportunity.

So I was walking up the hill in Hobart yesterday, 100m towards the ambulance van. Just doing my thing, walking slow AF.
A person passes by and says to me in passing ‘you’re doing a great job’ as if motivating me, 2-4 times as we exchanged words, my words were ‘have a lovely day’ with a smile.
For the people trying to motivate me it might seem a great thing to say, but for me it’s like a backfire, it’s a bit boring, I’ve heard it all before. I know I’m going to get up that hill because the ambulance is up there and I’m going to get up there whether I like it or NOT.
Over my life I’ve been told the same or similar words so many times that it gets a bit irritating when I haven’t even shared my story..
I want to EARN that inspiration title, like ‘HOLY SHIT, MADDDDD’ a level of respect…
Now I’m not having a go at this person, far from it. I’m just using it as an example of the everyday situations that I hear. I want to educate people about what it’s like for those of us living with a disability.
I think listening and empathising, with the story that someone is telling you with no assumptions drawn, teaches you a better level of respect.
And at the end of the day we are all human just some MAY ask for a helping hand along their way. Just don’t assume we need one!

3.5 years since getting hit by the car while doing the epic 4 points ride, and we’re Takin on Tassie - the 3 points currently but you wouldn’t have known, unless you read the story/follow the journey or you’ve read the minuscule amount on this post.
